Mr. Phanchai Bawornrattanapran
The Governor of Prachuab Kirikhan in close cooperation with the Royal Irrigation Department, the Rachaburi Army engineering department and The State Railway of Thailand will work together to clean and dig out the canal along the railway track which was originally indicated upon His Majesty The King’s advice. Hua Hin Municipality hosts this project which is budgeted at 10 millions baht.
The Governor of Prachuab Kirikhan, Mr. Phanchai Bawornrattanapran said that after discussing with Mr. Chalermkiat Sanvises, the secretary of (???.). They found that the canal along the railway track from Bo Fai, Hua Hin to Khao Takiab and which is a Royal Initiative Project is full of floating garbage, rubbish, weeds, trees etc. In addition, there is illegal building which obstructs the free flow of water. During heavy rain it will cause streets and neighbourhoods of Hua Hin to flood.
The Rachaburi Army engineering department, the Royal Irrigation department and The State Railway of Thailand in Hua Hin were assigned to dig and clean the canal and remove illegal buildings. The Mayor of Hua Hin Municipality Mr.Jira Phongphaibool and administrators will host the project which will be finished within July 2008. The budget set at Baht 10 Million.
The Governor of Prachuab Kirikhan was assigned to take the responsibility to manage this Royal Initiative Project.
After finishing this project, H.M. the King will come and inspect the project and give more advise on preventing floods in Hua Hin.
There are many buildings along the canal compound which were neglected by The State Railway of Thailand, including homes of railway officials such as Khe Lek Bridge, Nhong Kae. The railway officers need to remove all those buildings.
This Royal Initiative Project started in 2006 and initially the railway officials residents were allowed to stay there. But more buildings were added illegally to the compound. These must be removed.
The Royal Initiative Project that is coordinated together with Rachaburi Army engineering department was started with a budget of 60 millions baht. The compound along the railway track was to become to the canal to feed a rain storage project and connect the Klong Nil canal, Klong Kwien Huk canal and Klong Takiab. After this project was completed, the Municipality of Hua Hin was not assigned to improve and maintain this project and the State Railway of Thailand didn’t look after this project either. Hence, there are many structures ercted , belonging to the people in this and other areas who trespassed this compound and affected this project in a negative way.
Once again, besides the endeavor of the Royal Army and Royal Railway , residents must give all their support to this project which His Majesty The King has initiated for the wellbeing of Hua Hin as this is not only an esthetic matter but also a high concern of hygiene and health.
