55 Corner Building, Hua Hin's Hip Venue

With the combination of Chinese Portuguese architecture and Irish, 55 Corner Building is the dream vision of a group of Thai executive joint partners from Bangkok. After several visits to the charming city, Vietnam, Mr. Virakun Punyaratabandhu or khun Nhong, the owner of the Architect Company in Bangkok, and Ms. Rungrat Kuysuwan or khun Kung, 55 Corner Building joint partners, who were fascinated in the beautiful culture, eventually decided to set up business here.

With over 10 million baht invested, the eye-catching 55 Corner Building is comprised of Art Gallery display paintings from several famous Vietnamese artists and most are in water color. There are another 3 chic zones; Caphe Sua Da, ( Caphe sua da means Coffee with milk ) is the original Vietnamese Coffee shop serving scented coffee that is imported from Vietnam, the world's second largest producer of coffee. It is not only the taste that makes it authentic, the coffee is served using a Vietnamese coffee filter, only available in local areas of Vietnam or on streets. The place is ideal for a casual breakfast, lunch and dinner. International dishes and Finger food are available such as Vietnamese fresh vegetable spring rolls, "Pho Bo" beef noodle soup is normally served for breakfast but some people like it at any time of day or "Khai Krata" Vietnamese Fried Eggs served in a pan, one of the famous breakfast. The recommended daily home-made bakery and desserts are crepe, tiramisu and carrot cake etc.

The stylish coffee shop is a good blend of Vietnamese contemporary style, decorated and designed by khun Nhong, the internationally high-profile architect who is currently in charge of many well-known projects in Hua Hin. The painted walls in white and cozy couches really give a homely and comfy feeling to visitors. It is open from Monday to Thursday, 7 am to 10 pm and Friday to Saturday open until 11 pm.

Red Mango is a Korean Ice-cream franchise which was launched in Thailand last year. The healthy yogurt-ice-cream now has 8 branches nationwide. The fat-free ice-cream is served with a variety of fresh fruit toppings; kiwi, orange, lychee, strawberry, blueberry etc. Open from 10 am - 10 pm Monday to Thursday and Friday and Saturday until 11 pm.

Stone Head Tavern Pub & Restaurant, the colonial Irish pub painted in black-red tones, is a place for 60s to late 70s music lovers; Chicago, The Beatle etc. Stone Head literally means Hua Hin ( "Hua" = Head , "Hin" = Stone ) The comfy-brownish sofas are rather inviting for a casual dinner. Vienna Sausages made from lamb and beef steak are one of the signatures recommended. Meet the Pilipino live band for easy listening everyday except Monday. Open everyday from 6 pm to 2 am.
