Dengue fever watched over by Hua Hin Municipality
Supansa Klaiwaad
It is said to be double the rate compared to 2007, while 58 patients in Prachuap Khirikhan and 7 patients in Hua Hin District were found and it is expected that the disease will spread more.
Therefore, all sectors must seriously cooperate in protecting and controlling the spread. Hua Hin Municipality has worked with Hua Hin Hospital to hold the project to watch over and control Dengue fever in line with the National Health system by controlling and decreasing common house mosquitoes who are the Dengue fever carriers. To reach the goal, the public health volunteers will take part in destroying sources of those mosquitoes and give ABATE Sand granules to all 35 communities from now until August 2008.
This project is regarded to be of great benefit to the people in the communities, so all communities are requested to facilitate those officers while working on eliminating sources of mosquitoes to help to prevent everyone from catching Dengue fever. To get rid of risky sources, people must improve environments at houses, workplaces, schools, temples, playgrounds and other places by cleaning and letting air flow through the area, turn over any containers filled with water or cover them with lids, protect you and your family members from being bitten by mosquito’s during the daytime by wearing long-sleeved shirts or trousers to reduce the risk of being bitten. If all families seriously cooperate in the watch, the spread of Dengue is expected to definitely disappear from Hua Hin.
Those who want to have ABATE Sand granules for eliminating sources of mosquitoes, please notify and collect it at Khao Takiap Public Health Center 0-3253-6632 or Nebkehaad Public Health Center 0-3251-1999.
