Mr. Pohweng Sae-Khuai, the President of Hua Hin Aid Foundation revealed now there are nearly 80 dead bodies, without relatives, left at the foundation and are kept in block-morgues. To keep newly arrived bodies at the graveyard, the foundation has to cremate old bodies in the morgue first but it appears that the number of dead is increasing rapidly.
However, the foundation is now building a 40 block-morgue with a budget of 325,000 baht to support the in-coming bodies. It is estimated to be completed in the middle of this year.
“In cases where there are no relatives to pick up the dead bodies of Thai or foreigners at the hospital, they will be sent directly to the foundation to be kept in the morgues at the graveyard. On behalf of the foundation I and other members of staff have been assisting the society in Hua Hin and Prachuap Khirikhan’s areas as much as possible.
A lot of money needs to be spent on fuel, labor and other areas each month. Any kind persons who would like to take part in assisting the society can donate money and other items anytime” said Mr. Pohweng.
According to Mr. Pohweng, the foundation currently has 9 rescue cars and vans in use, the latest donated car costing 480,000 baht was provided by Mr. Amphol Anusornphanich (Khun Aek, the owner of duck noodle restaurant) in the hope of using it for activities and general rescues in the city and nearby areas.
Mr. Pohweng added the 21 committees duties are going to expire at the middle of this year. The new election will take place on 14th July. So it’s time to give an opportunity to all members to select the appropriate person to continue working and running the foundation.
