Hua Hin Hospital Officially Opened

Hua Hin Hospital is now officially opened, providing services to both Thai and foreign patients. However the hospital is still short of medical equipment as well as personnel. The budget of 85 million baht from the donation for creation of Luang Poh Tuad will be brought into the Government Bond Fund and only the interest will be used for the hospital.

Dr. Nirand Chantrakool, Director of Hua Hin Hospital revealed that Hua Hin Hospital is ready to provide medical services to Hua Hin residents and visitors with their modern and effective equipment. The hospital was officially opened on December 1^st, 2008.

However, the numbers of doctors and nurses are still less than expected. At the moment, there are 24 doctors and 120 nurses where the expected numbers were 49 doctors and 200 nurses respectively. Nevertheless, the administration will be kept going in the most professional way possible. Though the hospital might not be as well equipped as other big hospitals, its readiness is still 95%.

For those who would like to make a contribution to Hua Hin Hospital can either give money or surgical instruments. The instruments that the hospital needs the most are for surgery which for a full set costs around 2 million baht.

Normally, doctors of all branches will stand by for outpatients in the morning. Around 1,000 outpatients will come for medical checkups and treatments each day. The hospital has both jointed and separate well-equipped rooms available for the patients. The cost ranges from 500-1,500 baht.

Dr. Nirand further added that the budget in building the hospital came from the support of wealthy residents of Hua Hin and Phra Kru Pairoj, Wat Huay Mongkhol (donation money upon the creation of Luang Poh Tuad). The budget of 85 million baht is now safely deposited in a bank and only the interest is used for instruments and essential equipment for the hospital including the ambulance, etc. However, the money in the bank should be turned into Government Bonds.

Hua Hin Hospital is ready to provide medical services to everyone in Hua Hin and neighboring areas and all staff are hoping that they will be able to help lighten the load of Prachuab Kirikhan Province and take care of Hua Hin residents as well as visiting foreigners.
