Hua Hin Transport Company to improve drivers’ conducts

Hua Hin Transport Company held a meeting with the mini taxi drivers to improve their services and manners with customers, hoping to create good image for Hua Hin. If passengers have any problems about the high fare or inappropriate manners they can inform the transportation center instantly.

Mr. Kittipong Siripetchkasem, the manager of Hua Hin Transport Company disclosed that there were 84 mini taxis providing services in Hua Hin. The main 8 parking spots and few other temporary spots are now not enough. In the future, there should be more stops for the mini taxis.

As for the manners and taxi fare, the company had the meeting with the drivers and told them to abide by the rules. For example, the fares from Hua Hin center to Khoa Takieb and Khao Tao were fixed. If the drivers claimed the higher fare, the customers can inform the company and tell the number of the taxi. The taxi that violated the rules will be punished by being suspended from the job for 3-7 days or 1 month along with the first warning. In case of drinking and driving, their vehicles will be confiscated and kept at the company for at least one month.

“From the beginning to the end of this year, there have been a few cases of mini taxis that had misbehaved, and they were punished according to the rules. The most severe case was the case in front of Hilton Hotel where the driver had collected the fare that exceeded the real price. However, he had confessed and accepted the punishment. Apart from that, the taxi drivers do not wear the correct uniform, they will have to be punished as well”, said Mr. Kitipong.

Each year, the company will have 5-6 meetings with the taxi drivers and all drivers must work together and follow instructions and rules. This in turn will help create the good image of Hua Hin as a tourism destination.
