TESCO LOTUS – Pranburi
The Administrator of the Tesco Lotus Amphur Pranburi, Prachuabkhirikan Province open-mindedly talked about this new branch, no. 78, just opened in Pranburi. This branch contributes to the economy of Thailand and follows the philosophy of His Majesty The King called “Sufficiency Economy”.
Mr. Boonchai Cheparanai, Assistant to the Managing Director of Tesco Lotus at Bangkok Branch revealed that Prachuab Khirikan produces about 47,913 million Baht per year and tend to growth up in the near future because the potential of the Prachuab Khirikan area with businesses such as Tourist Industry, Agricultural goods, Fishery and Hotels etc.
At the moment Tesco has 40 shops inside with consumer goods, clothes, electric appliances, furniture, food, book stores, a drug store and the Banks. The mall is air conditioned and there is a car park with security guards.
“I’m quite sure that Tesco Lotus Pranburi branch is going to be a Hyper Market with good quality for all the local and the foreigners. The shops have been improved to update the infrastructure to modern and international trends. The most important thing is to support and improve the economy of the local area generate income tax to an additional 12 Mio Baht per year. This will contribute to improve public activities” said of Mr. Boonchai.
220 jobs have been created at Tesco Lotus. Local people from Pranburi & Prachuab Khirikan will be considered first. This will return the profit of labor to the local area and follow the philosophy of His Majesty The King. Saving money and return the profit to the local area.
Tesco Lotus is an International company originated and based in the United Kingdom the management is in Thailand and Thai businessmen are share holders and manage the company in Thailand.
We didn’t only built the business but also we give it back to the Thai people by setting up the Tesco Thai Foundation to support the poor social people.
Before we started to open, we already build the toilets at Baan Kao Noi Pranburi School, for 150,000 Baht. We donated 100,000 Baht to the Prachuab Khirikan Red-Cross Charity and donated another 100,000 Baht to the funds of Somdej-Pha-Piya-Maharaj .
Besides this we have a donation box inside Tesco Lotus Pranburi and will open it upon the first anniversary and take the money inside to the school at Kao-Noi area. This shows that Tesco Lotus is public and social company, of Thai people by Thai people for Thai people.
