The Beach at Paknam Pran
Mr. Boontae Ninteun, Pak Nam Pran Mayor, disclosed that he now has been elected Mayor for a sixth period. His area of responsibility is 2300 square kilometers, 2,000 houses and 10,000 populations. Most of the local residents are fisherman. In the area of Khao Kalok there are numerous guesthouses and hotels for Thai and foreign tourists which is a good income for Pak Nam Pran.
In Pak Nam Pran there are many shops selling both dried and fresh seafood. The port delivers fresh seafood everyday. The quantity of garbage that the people leave in front of their house needs to be collected by the municipality 5 times a week. There are many kinds of garbage such as plastic bags, dried up and fresh garbage, etc. We believe that the garbage will increase more and more. So the Pak Nam Pran municipality has accepted the policy of the Prachuabkirikhan Governor.
Also joining us is the Evason Resort & Spa through Mr.Alan Thomas the managing director, the Petroleum Authority of Thailand and other hotels and guesthouses.
The bad smell is the result of the marine life industry because the people bring the squid, fish, shrimp and etc. from the boat and process it to be sold to Thai and foreign tourists. The local people can make income from this industry but it gives Pak Nam Pran a bad smell.” Mr.Boontae said.
Mr.Boontae adds that his administrator and himself pay close attention to the environment regardless of the garbage collection.
