Water Meters Stolen in Hua Hin Municipality
Mr. Surakit said that 1,000 water meters were stolen from the Water Supply Unit at Hua Hin municipality. However, the investigation found that two temporary employees were guilty. They stole the 1,000 water meters, took out brass pieces and sold them to an agency in Hua Hin.
Mr. Surakit reported the robbery to Hua Hin police. The case is now under investigation. Some evidence was send to Prachuab Kirikhan prosecutors for further suing of civil and criminal offenses. The two temporary employees’ status is now terminated.
Regarding the stolen water meter case, the chief of the Water Supply Unit is also responsible for the robbery.
The robbery of water meters at the unit has been going on for many years. There have been cases of faked income-expense accounts. Now our committees are working to uncover the false account records.” added Mr. Surakit.
It is also found that a monthly checking of water units has been randomly done. In addition, there was water stolen and delays of repairing broken water pipes etc.
