Deputy Superintendent urges project owner's cooperation in firm security
Pol. Lt. Col. Withat Borirak, the Suppression Deputy Superintendent, Hua Hin Police Station, revealed he had summoned housing projects owners from Khao Tao, Khao Ta kiap, Nongkae - Hua Na, Khao Phithak, Samor Prong, Khao Noi, Boh Fai etc and approx. 100 projects attended. The meeting was subject to providing firm security for Thai and foreign residences that live in the developments.
"Besides having guards on watch to inspect the area day and night, it is recommended that CCTV be installed at every entrance gate to record all the car plate numbers of those who enter for the purpose of a future investigation in the case of robbery etc." said Pol. Lt. Col. Withat
Some projects external walls were not built high enough which makes its easier for a robber to enter the developments. Furthermore, there should be lights installed all over the developments with adequate light especially in the nighttime in order to track down outlaws more easily making it easier for people to remember appearances, vehicles and other details.
"A recent burglary occurred when a group of teenagers broke into the house of a European owner. They ate food in the kitchen and left graffiti, "super boy gang", on the wall using mustard and stole several value items before leaving the house. After the useful information reported by the house owner, the labor thief gang were soon arrested at their camp with all evidence taking in. It is because of full, clear details that we can track down outlaws successfully." explained Pol. Lt. Col. Withat.
He also added that presently there are not enough investigating police, so the community police have had to take part in patrolling during the night.
One of the reasons for Europeans and Scandinavians deciding to purchase a house is because of their trust in security. The police officers believe if each project is well-collaborated with this basic protection, it will be easy to eliminate crime.
On behalf of the Suppression Deputy Superintendent, he has found that most foreign project owners are unsatisfied with police investigations. This must be changed and all owners should trust in the police as much as they can to ensure their safety.
