People normally perform meritorious deeds with flowers, incense and candles to be used in a Buddhism ritual that has to be performed in the hall of the temple. That is when the flowers, incents, and candles are used. Besides that, there is also a believe that the profit of performing meritorious deeds with incense is a way to give the path of light to gods followers and study the orderliness of Buddha which will show the bright path like the fire of a candle.
This traditional ceremony is one of the ceremonies that citizens of Hua-Hin will celebrate every year which when the Buddhist day arrive, each institute will join the citizens of Hua-Hin to search for a large candle to be given to different temples to be used during the Buddhist Lent day and it’s an offering to the gods. The Buddhist Lent day this year is on 18 of July.
For Hua-Hin’s the local government is aware of the importance of Buddhism. In this year the ceremony will be held on the 15-16 of July 2008 at the Pone Kingpetch Park
For the traditional gathering , the large candle is held to inherit the Buddhism culture including preserving this national traditional ceremony and also to open an opportunity for the people to celebrate this cultural ceremony together.
The activities will be held on 15th July 2008 starting 4.00 pm. The molding of the large candle and ceremonies celebrating the ceremony. The 16th July 2008 11.00 am will be gathering time before going around Hua-Hin after which all the large candles will be given to different temples in the municipality area. The celebration will be held at the Pone Kingpetch Park.
The ceremony is considered very important y because if gives citizens a chance to celebrate together and also to reserve this beautiful cultural ceremony as long as possible.
