Hua Hin artists launch a new project
Mr. Tavee Kesa-ngarm, the leader of Hua Hin artist group said that during this high season, the Group has come up with a project under the name Poo Kan San Jorn (meaning Traveling Paintbrush) where 19 great artists have been traveling to different interesting places in Hua Hin and Cha-Am to create paintings of such places as Hua Hin Railway Station, The Harbor, Wat Khao Takiab, Beaches, The Sea and Mrigadayavan Palace among others. The outcome was 100 paintings which will be exhibited at Baan Silapin for the whole year.
With this Poo Kan San Jorn Project, Mr. Tavee and the artists aim to promote the contemporary art of Hua Hin and to promote Hua Hin to become one of the cities of art just like the other cities in the north, north-east and the south. Money from selling the paintings will be given to the funds for public benefit.
“It’s going to be the fifth year of the Hua Hin Artist Group, and we have been very successful because of the kind cooperation of the artists. The beautiful arts are valuable to everyone and they serve the society in numerous ways” said Mr. Tavee.
Mr. Tavee also added that Baan Silapin Hua Hin is the centre of the national level artists works and also the place that Thais and foreigners from all over the country and from different parts of the world have been coming to witness great art works regularly. There will be staff of Baan Silapin escorting the visitors and explaining about the arts. If any person would be interested to purchase the paintings they can also do so.
The political turmoil that is going on is definitely affecting the tourism status of the whole country. However, Hua Hin still receives visitors from outside according to the seasons. The local governors, the mayor of Hua Hin, the mayors of district administration organizationm, provincial administration and other private organizations such as Preserve Hua Hin are greatly helping out and supporting Baan Silapin and the artists group which encourages the group to continue creating the great works for Hua Hin.
