Hua Hin City to hold “Hua Hin Jazz Festival 2008”

This festival is to increase tourism during the low season as well as to create Hua Hin as “a Jazz Town” It is expected that the numbers of visitors during this music festival will reach 70,000 with 150 million baht of cash flow. The Hua Hin Jazz Festival 2008 will take place on 13-22 June at several points; Hua Hin Beach (close to Sofitel), Damnoen Kasem Road, Sasong Road and Phon King Phet Public Park with a lot of Thai and overseas jazz musicians. In the event, there will be food & drink stalls, local products and a walking street for the audiences.
The Province this year intents to create this music festival to be “A Real Great Music Festival”; the first stage is called “Jazz on the Beach” will be taking place on 13 – 15 June at Hua Hin Beach, with the high-lighted free concert by Thai and oversea musicians and along the beach will be “Jazz Alley” where a lot of small shops located include products from Chitladda Shop and plenty of activities.
“Jazz in Town” is the second stage and will take place on 16-19 June at Hua Hin Railway station. And “Jazz on the Beach”, the third stage, will be taking place on 20-22 June at Phon King Phet Public Park with the atmosphere of “the ancient city on the jazz road” and other activities by Thai artists. In addition, “The Food Fair” featuring food and drinks from hotels in Hua Hin and Prachuap Khirikhan will be exhibited on Damnoen Kasem Road from 16.00 – 24.00.
The Province has prepared facilities this year for visitors such as parking lots at Hua Hin Municipality and Phetchkasem Road, mobile toilet cars as well as making sign boards indicating performance schedules, ways and directions and top-view festival map.
