Hua Hin Market Village practiced fire plan for the safety of the general public

Mr. Yanyong Kanhawatthana, a General Manager of Hua Hin Market Village, Hua Hin District, Prachuapkhirikhan Province, revealed the Board of directors of the company has assigned the branch in Hua Hin to practice a fire plan in case of a real fire situation . The practicing scene was set up as a real fire situation and all staff, entrepreneurs and officers were to be summoned to relieve the situation on 3rd floor in a storage room of Major Cineplex cinema which would be ablaze. In the situation, the security officers would initially relieve the fire as well as cutting off the internal electricity system as the public relation officers gave an evacuation warning to all customers.

Then, all of the injured would be aided as well as evacuated in this stage under the assistance of the directorate center situated on the ground floor in front of the parking lots. The final stage was that the concerned officers would inform fire fighters, police officers, ambulances and so on to arrive at the scene and assist with the next procedure. The practice proceeded as planned with satisfaction.

Mr. Yanyong also added the fire plan was observed and participated by government officers as well. Moreover, the fire practice plan, with 280 people participating, gained an evaluation score of 144 out of a possible 147 which was regarded as a satisfactory result. In the case of a real situation, the trained officers and other concerned people would be able to confidently tackle the situation. Furthermore, the fire plan will be scheduled 3 times a year, the same as the centers in Bangkok.

For safety reasons, Hua Hin Market Village has installed useful equipment needed in a fire situation, such as fire extinguishers installed in various points in case of fire. Each member of staff is able to initially use the aforementioned equipment correctly according to the principles before notifying the fire fighters. Besides the aforementioned, 6 fire suites which totaled almost a million baht, were provided as well. Moreover, these fire suites were not used by any private sections in Hua Hin before. In case of a serious fire situation, the company would also bring the suites to help victims in time.

"The visitors of our shopping center consist of both Thais in Hua Hin and Bangkok and foreigners. It is expected that there will be 20,000 visitors a day during the last three months of this year. In the preceding low season, there were just 10,000 visitors a day with a total income of 10 MB. Therefore, as we have established a shopping center where our customers are welcomed, we must ensure the safety of their lives and properties to the utmost. Our customers can be confident that Hua Hin Market Village is a very safe place to visit" said Mr. Yanyong.

As Mr. Somjit Waidarb, a head of the Disaster Prevention and Relief Section said, the results of the fire plan at Market Village were extremely satisfying and successful due to the readiness of the head departments and concerned officers to tackle such a situation. He also desired that the practice plan should be continuously operated every year and he also invited local government sections; hospital, traffic police officers, foundations and so on to participate in the Market Villages fire plan so they were prepared if a fire situation were to occur. The main priority is that there must immediately be a directing person to order and control the situation because they would enable the crisis to be solved effectively and efficiently.
