Banyan to launch its new outlet
Stuart Daly, Director of Banyan Golf Club’s management company, GLS Asia Limited www.gls-asia.com is the person who will lead all clubhouse operations. His team will ensure that the locker rooms are in pristine condition at all times. Fresh linen, high quality toiletries will be offered, and locker rooms even have a relaxation area for you to chill out for a few moments before or after your game. The Pub & Restaurant will definitely be one of Hua Hin’s top dining hot spots. We asked Stuart about his career background and his vision of the Banyan Experience.
Stuart, how will your previous professional roles help you to operate The Banyan?
I have been very fortunate to have worked at some of the world’s finest International 5-star hotels & restaurants. I have also had the opportunity to travel and work with many different people in various countries from Europe, Asia, Indian Ocean and Australia. Our guests are all looking for a hassle free experience throughout their visit. Our team will do everything possible to ensure that happens.
You have a culinary background. Will you be cooking?
I will be the main contact for our guests throughout the clubhouse so I will not be in the kitchens on a day to day basis. However, I have been leading the design of our kitchens and all the menus. I have some Signature dishes which I am afraid remains a secret for the opening!
Our kitchen team here at The Banyan Golf Club understands my high expectations for food quality and I am very confident that they will deliver great food with fantastic value for money. I will definitely do some cameo appearances from time to time!
How many restaurants will The Banyan Golf Club have?
The Banyan Golf Club will have two signature outlets; “The Terrace” as the restaurant has some huge outdoor seating areas overlooking many of the holes and a great view of the mountainous Burmese border. The talking point of “The Terrace” will be its walk-in Wine Cellar.
Guests can spend time browsing through our wine collection before choosing the perfect bottle to accompany your choice of food. We will also have highly experienced staff to assist your choice. Our unique dinner menu will actually help you to more fully experience & enjoy the world of food & wine pairings. I also plan to host several special Wine Dinners with winemakers throughout the year.
‘The Terrace’ restaurant will be managed by Khun Sanit Srisan, a seasoned restaurateur who has been appointed food and beverage manager was recently awarded runner up, after the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Thailand’s National Wine Challenge Competition held in Bangkok.
The alternative option for our guests will be our spectacular Teak pub, “Mulligan’s”. As the name suggests, this is the preferred watering hole for golfers. Mulligan’s has a cozy interior with a larger terrace outside overlooking the front nine and indeed only yards from the ninth green. “Mulligan’s” will also offer pub style snacks to make sure that all are happy. I have no doubt that “Mulligan’s” will become a favorite point of call for golfers & friends.
What else is special about The Banyan Clubhouse?
Where do I start! The entire building is beautiful from design point of view, furniture choices and of course the views of the course, valley & mountains.
Our 4-exclusive suites will provide guests with high-end luxury that equally matches what one would expect of such a 5-star hotel but with the peace & serenity that only a golf course can provide.
The building is a great balance of traditional Thai design with modern touches and I am delighted to be part of the senior management team at the Banyan Golf Club, Hua Hin.
