Food review: Terrazzo at Holiday Regent Cha-am

Terrazzo, Warm Breeze Dinning

Heading towards the ocean, you will spot dimmed red lights hanging from the trees. The beautiful colors of sunset and the cooling breeze will definitely draw your attention. Once you enter, you’ll be met by 2 sections: The outdoor and the dining areas. The wooden tables match perfectly with the newly renovated white walls. The stylish surroundings infused with the continental ambient put you in a relaxed state of mind.

I was welcomed by a very friendly Chef Mr. Steve Ang and his team. Mr. Steve is a Malaysian national and has fallen in love with the charm of Thai culture. He is very passionate about his work and his main focus is on the quality of the food. Mr. Steve puts long hours every day to create unbelievable dishes. I asked him what kind of food he likes, his answer was: “I like nice food! My vision on food is very basic; it has to be rich with the right ingredients”.

Fettuccine with Porcini Mushroom and Grilled Seafood

Even though the quality of the cuisine is very high, the Terrazzo offers very reasonable prices compared to other restaurants. Pastas and pizzas are Terrazzo’s signature. I would recommend trying the following dishes: Fettuccine with Porcini Mushroom and Grilled Seafood (350 baht), Tornado of Beef with Pesto, Tomato Chutney and Baby Potato Kebab (450 baht). The oven-pizza is truly impressive, especially Al Funghi – Mushroom, Tomato and Cheese (250 baht). Also try Frutti Di Mare Shrimps, Squids, Mussels and Clams (300 baht) and Cognac infused Liver Pate (160 baht). There is wide selection of deserts, the one I particularly liked was Classic Tiramisu (160 Baht), you can really taste the rum and the sweetness is very well-balanced.

It is recommended to book the table in advance. The restaurant can take up to 90 people. It is opened daily from 11 am to 10.30 pm .
