Treatment: Co Co Calada Body scrub – 50 mins Bht 1500
‘Luk Parakob’ Hot Compress Therapy – 90 mins Bt 2500
This Spa is a haven for guests to relax and rejuvenate, with its beautifully designed sanctuary spa complex consisting of a spacious tropical lagoon with 6 private double treatment villas that are built on water connected with wooden walkways. I was met by the lovely spa manager Khun Thaneeya. She showed me around her spa facility then explained the luxurious treatment I was going to have.
My therapist started with a wonderful 15 minute pressure point massage on the back of my body, this is because we hold 90 percent of our stress on our back and legs. She then proceeded with the coconut body scrub which is perfect for sun scorched skin due to too many rounds of golf!, mine in particular. Normally I find body scrubs quite annoying as the pressure is often too soft and the product is not nearly adequate enough to exfoliate sufficiently, but this was perfect.
I knew from her touch that I would have trouble staying awake. I have no idea how long I was lying there, but I didn’t want it to end, but the good thing was I got to soak in a glorious outdoor bathtub filled with delicious detoxifying oils to refresh and cleanse my body. I was pleasantly surprised …again…to find the water temperature absolutely perfect. I lay there in the midday sun looking outside to the sky and trees, thinking how wonderful this would be if it were night time , with the stars to look at and all the lovely candles they had lit around the bathtub.

For me at that time I didn’t care, I just couldn’t wait for my next treatment. Something I was really looking forward to as I had never experience the traditional Thai Hot Compress Therapy ‘Luk Parakob’ . This type of therapy has been used for many centuries in Thailand for the relief of pain and inflammation. A selection of therapeutic herbs including prai, ginger and tumeric are wrapped in a muslin compress, steamed and then gently applied to the body in circular and rolling movements. As the pores open and allow the herbs to take effect ailments such as headaches, sore muscles and anxiety are almost immediately relieved. This was followed by a glorious , relaxing oil massage.
You know, for me, I love a strong massage, and I have to admit this is the first time I have experienced a soft to medium massage and found it utterly divine. I don’t remember how many times I fell asleep, but I just remember not feeling irritated and just feeling totally relaxed and floating with the lovely soft music playing and the magnificent energy from my therapists hands.
I am a true believer that it is so important to feel a connection with your therapist. It works both ways, you as the recipient must be willing to be open minded and let the energy flow, albeit is different from what you are used to, and also if the therapist is trained well , she should be able to put you at ease and really take care of you in a genuine authentic way.
I believe my therapist has all these attributes, and I have no doubt that all their therapist have the same wonderful hands. I am quite excited to come back and try some more treatments, a facial perhaps, as the products they use are natural aromatherapy oils and gorgeous foods and fruits from Thailand. I purchased a lovely Aloe and green tea foaming body scrub/shower gel. Its so fresh and clean and feels great on your skin. I truly believe this is a unique little hideaway with very competitive prices.
If you want to really get away from the town and try something unique, professional and totally relaxing then try the treatment I had, you won’t be disappointed.
