Spa Review at The Earth Spa at the Evason Hua Hin Resort and Spa

I was looking forward to my trip to the famous Earth Spa at the Evason Resort. This well-known hideaway is located in the quiet area of Pranburi to the south of Hua Hin and provides calming views of the Gulf of Siam. It is set amongst 20-acres of landscaped lush tropical gardens with lotus ponds. King Rama VII built a palace in Hua Hin in 1926 and it remains the Thai Royal family Summer Palace to this day.

I arrived on time for my appointment and was met by John Lindsay at the lobby ,the Spa Manager who has an extensive knowledge and many years of experience in the health and wellness field. He gave me a tour around the Spa telling me all I needed to know and even more. I must say I was quiet surprised by what I saw: The Earth Spa is unlike any other spa by all means. It has very unusual design and is made entirely from traditional natural materials farming circular domed buildings set over 1,386 square meters of water and landscaping. The Earth Spa comprises a cluster of nine buildings, which appear to be floating on ponds. These include four treatment rooms with private outdoor Jacuzzi, two steam rooms, the meditation cave, relaxing area offering fresh juices, and the reception area. The earth domes are designed with openings low to the outside water, allowing fresh breezes and energy flows to enter the buildings, providing natural ventilation. Thereis no need for air conditioners!

In recent years there has been a growing interest in what is now termed 'eco-tourism, as the hospitality industry responds to increased consumer awareness of environmental issues. Travelers and guests now expect hotels and resorts to have policies and practices that: promote sustainable waste management; reduce energy use; encourage sustainable purchasing; and minimize carbon emissions.

Evason Resort and Spa is defiantly one of the most environment friendly Hotels that I ever visited.

The spa offers an extensive menu of services provided by certified massage therapists and estheticians including massage (Full Body Relaxation, Aromatherapy, Upper Body, Deep Tissue Sports, and Reflexology), body wraps (Re-mineralizing Seaweed, Anti-Fatigue/Anti-Stress Moor Mud, Healing Rosehip, Re-Texturizing, Toning Cellulite), facials, manicures, and pedicures. Natural plant and sea extracts and aromatic restorative oils are integral components of each treatment, designed to give a feeling of well-being and deep relaxation.

After our pleasant conversation with John I was led to a private room. I had a nice shower and wrapped into a very comfortable bathrobe.

My therapist recommended me to experience the soothing benefits of the Steam Room first for at least 40 minutes (with breaks if course!) so it will allow my body to fully absorb nutrients from the specialized extracts and oils used during my spa treatment.

After the Steam Room, my feet were washed and I was offered to get comfortable on the treatment table. My 2 hour journey began!

Papaya Body Polish was truly the best body scrub that I ever had. All the ingredients were natural and the smell was amazing! The touch of my therapist was not too hard and not too soft – just right for me.

My next step was the Honey and Lime Facial. It was very relaxing, soothing and everything a facial should be. It started with the exfoliation, what happened after that, I don't even remember since I zoned out completely – my mind was floating…Yes, it was that good!

My journey was about to be over…I got changed and sat down for a cup of herbal tea with a plate of dried and fresh fruits. John came to see me after the treatments and commented on my skin: Washed, toned, exfoliated, massaged and applied a masque, it was glowing and felt divine.

This trip truly soothed my body and spirit. I will give it 5 stars and will definitely do it again.

Prices start at 2600++ Baht and trust me, you are worth it!
