Ms. Phiyasri Pianprasop, the director of Lai Thai Thai Traditional Medicine Development Center, Kanchanaburi Province, revealed that she has her own business training students to do Thai massage and now she wants to expand and open up another branch in Hua Hin. Each course will last approximately 10 days or 60 hours with a fee of 4000 baht. The course will include training in foot massage, Thai massage and oil massage. After the course, all attendants will receive a certificate issued by Thai Traditional Medicine Development Center, signed by Thai Traditional Medicine Association of Thailand.
"At the moment, Malaysia requires 100 Thai traditional masseurs, both male and female but it is strongly specified that each candidate should have a legal and professional certificate from the Association. The masseurs must be qualified and trained in the knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the body. In addition they must be educated in the English language and be prepared to travel abroad to partake in other important courses relevant to their work. After the trained masseurs are tested, their names will be sent to the Labor Department and Embassy of Malaysia. Then they will be sent to Penang as require for the Spa Massage Project" Said Ms. Phiyasri.
Ms. Phiyasri added that for the next year, she is contracted to the Chamber of Commerce to send Thai masseurs to work with the International athletes at the Olympic Games in China. There will be over ten thousand athletes participating in the games, so therefore the service of foot, oil, and Thai massage will be very beneficial as it helps relax nerve endings and soothe aching muscles. At the moment, she is working on the project and opening Thai massage booths within the sport programs which also have an additional requirement of a qualified doctor on site.
Ms. Phiyasri, is a highly qualified specialist in Thai traidional medicine and also acupuncture. She studied acupuncture in Peking, China under the guidance of the Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy. After completing her studies she began working and helping over 3000 patients in China. At the moment, she is studying for her Bachelors degree in TCM acupuncture at the Rajabhat Chankasem University.
Patients that come to her often have semi or full paralysis of the body, often they have chronic and acute pain that prevents them from moving a joint or functioning in a normal way. Acupuncture can help enormously. By placing the needles in strategic energy points throughout the body, it will stimulate and release any blockages caused by imbalance in the person body. The Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy works on the four elements in the body, water, fire, earth and air. When these elements are in balance, then the body can begin to heal. Each session takes 30 minutes and will last for 30 days. The course costs 25000 baht which is inclusive of healing massages and refreshments.
