Democrat Party Leader, Abhisit Vejjajiva, with his political path

Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, the leader of Democrat Party, revealed to "Hua-Hin Today" in a party held for the Party's fund at Navy Recovery Residence, Hua-Hin, Prachuap Khirikhan Province, if he got the majority vote he would form a government team and the first thing he would do with the national agenda was to improve the national education.

Firstly, expenses of students from 1st - 6th year of primary education must be free of charge, the government would be responsible for the educational fee and parents would be responsible for the rest. On public health's side, he would improve the Village Public Health Volunteer in municipalities to provide first aid to patients and all patients could take hospital service without holding a gold card or 30-baht card.

Moreover, each elderly person would be given 500 baht a month to support themselves, from the government, although not everybody, but the party would manage for everybody all over the country.

Also, tourism produces the main income for Thailand. He used to observe tourism in China and Vietnam and he learnt that natural, archaeological and local lifestyle tourisms were well organized; therefore, Thailand should apply the methods of tourism into their own style, especially, security and so on.

He also had his own rest house by the sea at Nongkae named "Rab Lom", but it was sold and replaced by a condominium, so, he moved to Sansaran Condominium located close to his old house instead. Mr. Abhisit recounted that 20 years ago he saw the Democrat Party running for election at Hua-Hin and his father, who visited Hua-Hin, met Mr. Chuan Leekpai, the former leader of Democrat Party, and put Mr. Abhisit into Mr. Chuan's care.

Mr. Abhisit was firstly a private secretary of Mr. Chuan, he was in charge of interpreting and translating. As time went by, Mr. Abhisit was designated as a minister of Office of The Prime Minister and as a leader of Democrat Party at the moment.

Mr. Abhisit added in the past there were not any members of the House of Representatives in Prachuap Khirikhan Province at all because of the local political power, dark power, and finance. When he had taken a position of Party's leader, he asked Ph.D Trirong Suwannakhiri, a deputy leader of the Party, to politically proceed in 3 areas, now the Party has succeeded in political extension.

For the next general election, the Party will not argue or accuse any rival parties, only the policies will be spoken out to the public, if any parties want to be abusive or argumentative, those parties have to be ready to work as opposition parties.

Finally, the total donation from people and businessmen in Prachuap Khirikhan Province is up to 20 million baht at the moment. The Democrat Party appreciates all kind assistance and if possible, the Party would proceed with all things which have been said and insist that all policies are true.
