Deputy prime minister worked hard during last Hua Hin visit
Mr Siva Sirisaovaluk, Prachuab Khirikhan's vice governor, Mr Prasit Boonlikit, Hua Hin' chief district, Mr Siraphan Kamolpramote, Hua Hin's mayor, and his vice mayors also attended the meeting.
The deputy prime minister informed the attendees that the meeting was called to discuss tourism in this region. However, he couldn't bring the subject of supporting Thai cultures and traditions in the meeting because he was interrupted by an urgent call to meet the prime minister.
After the meeting, the whole assembly conducted an inspection at Hua Hin beach, Hilton Hotel area, where there are residents who have taken liberty to utilize the space for commercial use. At the moment the matter is being heard in Prachuab Khirikhan court which will decide whether around 50 seafood restaurants in the vicinity of the pier will have to remove their business completely from the area. At present there are two restaurants which promise to bring down their foundations which have been there for more than 10 years. The two restaurants are Saeng Thai and Charoen Potchana. The municipality has filed a law suit towards those restaurant around this area for using land without official permission. However, these people who perform restaurant business in this area have been living in this area for more than 150 years now.
Mr Changthong Opasiriwit expressed his concern towards the people who have been living in the pier area saying that he understood their situation. He hopes that for the time being, they will make enough money so when they have to move out of the area they will be able to find another place to perform their business.
