America's Cup opener postponed by unsteady wind
VALENCIA, Spain (AP) — The opening race of the 33rd America's Cup between two-time defending champion Alinghi of Switzerland and American challenger BMW Oracle Racing has been postponed due to unsteady wind.
The giant multihulls floated idly near the start line, some 15 miles off the coast if Valencia, Spain, for nearly four hours on Monday before the race was called off.
Officials will try again on Wednesday to get in Race 1 of the best-of-three series.
The teams are finally settling their differences on the water after the sailing classic was disrupted by a bitter court fight that lasted 2½ years.

VALENCIA, Spain (AP) — The start of the 33rd America's Cup between Alinghi and BMW Oracle has been delayed due to unsteady wind.
Both boats floated idly near the start line, 15 miles off the Valencia coast Monday, where the best-of-three series between the enormous multihulls was scheduled to begin at 4:06 a.m. EST.
BMW Oracle says wind speeds have varied between two and eight knots inside the 400 square-mile race course. If the teams are unable to sail, the race will be rescheduled for Wednesday.
Two-time defending champion Alinghi of Switzerland and the American challenger are finally settling their differences on the water after the sailing classic was disrupted by legal wrangles since July 2007.
